Who, or what, is Two Wolves Digest?
Good question(s), thank you for asking.
Two Wolves Digest, or “TWD” as we’re desperately trying to make happen, is a fledgling online humour magazine. We are interested in publishing content that is:
- Silly
- Low-brow
- Satirical
- Surreal
- Irreverent
- Deadpan
- Dark
- Observational
- Topical
But we’re also pretty smart and we like high falutin’ things. Imagine if Lars von Trier made a movie about the seedy underbelly of America’s hotdog-eating contest circuit. TWD would be all over that.
TWD is a socially conscious publication. We won’t publish anything classified as hate speech.
We will publish four online issues per Gregorian calendar year. We will release a hardcopy anthology of primo contributions once a year.
What can I submit to TWD?
TWD is open to all sorts of creative works. But we are, first and foremost, a “literary” magazine. You are welcome to submit:
- Fiction: Short stories, flash fiction, anecdotes, excerpts, news satire
- Non Fiction: Memoir, scathing takedowns, your dream journal, social commentary, listicles
- Poetry: We don’t know much about about poetry. But if your poems aligns with our brand, go for it!
You are also welcome to submit:
- Art stuff: Comic strips, single panel comics, short graphic stories, illustrations, the folder on your desktop full of poorly-made memes
- Photography stuff: Sure, why not?
- Crosswords: TWD’s editorial team loves a good word game
If your work doesn’t fit into any of the above categories, go ahead and submit it anyway, we’ll no doubt love it, you pioneer of new media you.
Please note: The word limit on all submissions is 1,200.
Who can submit to TWD?
For now, TWD only accepts submissions from those with an Australian residential address.
There are no age restrictions. If you are an extraordinarily articulate six year old, go forth and submit, little homie.
Likewise, if you’re pushing one hundred, that’s cool too. TWD stans a funny centenarian.
TWD will accept submissions from creatives at any stage in their career. Novice, emerging, mid-career, professional, Pulitzer Prize winners. We want you all.
When can I submit to TWD?
There will be 4 submission periods a year. We will announce when we are open for submissions via our website and on our socials (Instagram).
Any submissions sent to us during a non-submission period will not be considered.
